Emotional Identity
Dennis and Barbara Rainey talk about identity, one of the four pillars of parenting. When actively parenting, they were conscious that they were helping their six children know who they were, especially in regards to their gifts and talents. Looking back, however, they wish they had been more aware of their children's EQ or emotional quotient, than their IQ. The Raineys stress the importance of teaching children what to do with their emotions.
